Objetivos:

Este curso está enfocado a un alumnado adulto que verá plasmados sus intereses e inquietudes a lo largo de las 12 unidades que componen este manual. El alumno reforzará sus conocimientos gramaticales referidos al uso del presente perfecto en contraposición al presente continuo, el uso de gerundios como sujetos, repasar y profundizar en la pasiva, condicionales y estilo indirecto, así como las subordinadas adverbiales, adjetivales y nominales. Repasar el uso de los modales más comunes y la expresión de futuro.

Contenidos:

UNIT 1: PEOPLE AND PLACES

Vocabulary: Migration, climate.

Listening:  Interviews about why people live where they do.

Speaking and pronunciation:  Discussing reasons for staying or moving.

Reading and writing: Writing a traveller’s journal.

UNIT 2: THE MIND

Talk about remembering and forgetting.

Grammar: Gerunds as subjects and after prepositions.

Vocabulary: Thought processes, scientific investigations.

Listening: A radio program about the unusual condition of synesthesia.

Speaking and pronunciation: Talking about sensations, /th/ sounds.

Reading and writing: Writing about a personal experience.

UNIT 3: CHANGING PLANET

Discuss causes and effects.

Grammar: Passive voice, past perfect tense.

Vocabulary: Environmental changes.

Listening: Climate change.

Speaking and pronunciation: Discussing cause and effect, linking words.

Reading and writing: Writing a letter about life in the future.

UNIT 4: MONEY

Describe your money habits.

Grammar: Gerund vs infinitive, review of the passive.

Vocabulary: Money transactions.

Listening: Radio program: the history of money.

Speaking and pronunciation: Giving suggestions for how to have fun.

Reading and writing: Writing a personal opinion.

UNIT 5: SURVIVAL
